Employment Offerings
All competitions are unrestricted and we encourage all qualified applicants to apply. However, in keeping with the terms and provisions of the college's various employment and collective agreements, priority will be given to internal candidates.

Short Course Instructor Opportunities - Create an on-going list
From time to time, Holland College is requested by industry to deliver specific and timely offerings in a number of different topic areas. As such, Holland College invites applications from potential Instructors for Contract Training Opportunities. These anticipatory short term positions are to deliver day or evening short courses or workshops in Queens, Kings or Prince County locations to adults at a Holland College facility.
Instructors are accountable for the development and the delivery of the short course including: developing learning materials; planning, preparing and delivering lectures and practical skill sessions; evaluating the progress of students; and maintaining liaison with the Manager of Contract Training at the College.

CT: IT 104 PowerPoint (2003) Instructor
Course Description:
This one day workshop will train new users of Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 with creating effective presentations. You will create instruction to include the following:
- Introduction to PowerPoint
- Customizing PowerPoint
- Changing Commands
- Getting Help
- Basics of Slide Layout - A Visual Overview
- Managing Content in the Outline
- Getting Content Just Right
- AutoCorrect and AutoFormat
- Additional Content Tips
- Adding Pictures
- Compressing Pictures
- Working with ClipArt

Welder -Red Seal ( one week)
Course Description:
We require a Red Seal welder to Instruct the finer points of MIG and
ARC welding including operating principles, equipment, consumables
and safety requirements. Topics include: gases and consumables
theory; storage and handling of consumables; practical welding in all
positions with a range of materials; troubleshooting/fault finding;
weld defects and remedies; safety operations of machines and safety in
confined spaces.

Duration: One week ( days only) of instruction - Summerside
CT: IT Excel Instructor
Course Description:
We have several requests for an instructor to teach the Excel program: Construction of spreadsheets for budgeting, financial planning, product listings, general calculations and for
displaying information in the form of charts. Topics will include: spreadsheet formatting and editing; basic formulas and functions; charting, page setup and printing features; and file
management.
Some advanced learners are require training in: learning how to create complex spreadsheets that utilise macros and streamline spreadsheeting. Topics will include: data lists; consolidation
techniques; validation of data; nested functions and macros.

CT-IT101 - Desktop Applications Instructor
Course Description:
This five day course familiarizes students with basic computer application software and file management. The students will work with applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software as well as a variety of basic Internet applications and tools. This is an introduction level course to establish a good computer foundation of practical applications. The instructor is required to have a wide level of Windows based knowledge and the ability to create a comfortable learning environment.

Duration: one week - daytime only
CT:IT102 - Microsoft Project (MSP) Instructor
Course Description:
This one day workshop will engage new and light users of MSP with the creation of a plan, proceeding to assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing budgets and analyzing workloads. The instructor will be an advanced user of Microsoft Project.
Location: Charlottetown
Duration: one day - daytime only
CT:AERO103 - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T) Instructor
Course Description:
This two day workshop will be attended by employees who use GD&T to design, produce and inspect parts. The engineering drawing is the common thread of the engineering and production team. This workshop, with user friendly tools can be used by your entire team to get it right the first time.
The instructor will have extensive hands on experience with traditional coordinate tolerancing - and Geometric Tolerancing, blueprint knowledge, GD & T symbols, terminology and rules of Geometric Tolerancing.
Instructor Profile
Along with relevant post-secondary education requirements, you must have related practical experience in the field and are able to teach a diverse group of learners. Training/teaching expertise is preferred.
